Google Snake

Eat fruit, control your turns, and beat your score in a customizable browser Snake game.

ABOUT

Classic Snake, modern customization

Google Snake is a browser remake of the classic Snake experience: you guide a growing snake around a grid, eat fruit to increase your score and length, and avoid collisions that end the run.

What makes this version special is the flexibility. You can adjust the speed, choose map size presets, toggle walls, and experiment with different fruit options and visual themes—so you can learn the game on your terms and then push for higher scores.

HOW TO PLAY

Navigate the grid and grow safely

  1. 1

    Move your snake

Use arrow keys or WASD to change direction and steer on the grid.

  2. 2

    Eat fruit to grow

When the snake reaches a fruit, it grows and your score increases.

  3. 3

    Avoid collisions

If you hit walls (when enabled) or collide with your own body, the game ends.

PROGRESSION

Practice routes, then increase difficulty

As you get longer, your available space shrinks and turns become more difficult. The goal is to build clean movement patterns that keep escape routes open.

Start with a slower speed and a forgiving setup, then gradually turn on walls or higher-speed tiers once your turns feel consistent.

CONTROLS

RUN TIPS

Improve your survival time

  • Plan ahead for turnsBefore you change direction, confirm you still have space for the next 1-2 turns.
  • Avoid tight loopsIf your route traps your own body, you'll be forced into an unavoidable collision.
  • Use custom speed to learnPractice on slower settings until your control feels automatic, then raise the difficulty.
  • Keep a safe laneTry to maintain a movement corridor that you can fall back to when fruit appears behind you.
